Weiner involved in minor car crash in Manhattan

Anthony Weiner is getting dinged up on the roadways as well as the campaign trail.

The mayoral hopeful got into a three-car fender-bender this morning on the FDR Drive, according to his spokeswoman and the fire department.

“There was a chain reaction car accident,” said spokeswoman Barbara Morgan. “All are ok. Anthony is appreciative to the FDNY and EMS for their quick and expert response.”

Witnesses who watched fire trucks and an ambulance arrive on the scene at FDR near East 99th Street said they only saw one crashed car, a black SUV.

“It took them an hour to clear it up — there was tons of traffic” said a construction worker who was working nearby.

“It looked like the driver’s side door couldn’t open because when the fire department tried, they could open it,” said another witness.

“Makes sense they sent all this help for Weiner. There was a lot of traffic — the fire truck made the FDR into one lane.”
