Police searching for alleged brutal Rego Park rapist

Police were still looking last night for a brutal, Rego Park rapist who had first incapacitated his victim by throwing her down a flight of stairs.

According to police, the man approached the 52-year-old woman as she exited an R train on 63rd Drive and Queens Boulevard around 10:00 p.m.

The brute asked the woman for her name and phone number, but the victim refused his advances and walked into a nearby Rite Aid. He followed her inside the store and eventually waited outside for her, police say.

When she left the store, the suspect grabbed the woman and threw her down a nearby flight of stairs before raping her.

Cops say he stole the woman’s purse and cell phone, then fled. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.

Police describe the suspect as a male in his mid-twenties, standing 5-foot-7 and wearing a mustache. The suspect told the victim his name was Junior, cops said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
