CBS orders up three first-year shows

Get ready for more Robin Williams on CBS. The network has given the comedian’s sitcom “The Crazy Ones” a full-season order, along with other first-year shows “The Millers” and “Mom.”

The trio are the season’s top three new comedies in viewers, with “Crazy Ones” averaging 13.7 million viewers, “The Millers” starring Will Arnett drawing 12.4 million viewers, and “Mom” with Anna Faris and Allison Janney averaging nearly 8 million viewers.

“Crazy Ones” also ranks first among freshman series in the advertiser-preferred adults 18-49 demographic, averaging a 3.6 rating, while “The Millers” is second with a 3.2 rating.

They are the first new CBS shows to earn full 22-episode seasons. The network previously axed freshman comedy “We Are Men” after two episodes while the thriller “Hostages,” averaging a mediocre 5.7 million viewers on Mondays, is only intended to run 13 episodes in its first season.

Fox also ordered up a full season of its new comedy “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” marking four comedy orders following pickups for dramas “The Blacklist” (NBC) and “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” (ABC) and a 13-episode second season renewal for “Sleepy Hollow” (Fox).
