3 dead as Halloween violence grips NYC

At least three people are dead and several others were injured after a rash of violence on Halloween, authorities said.

In one bloody night, six people were shot in separate incidents around the city, one person was stabbed, a woman reported a sexual assault on her way home from a Halloween party, and one person was shot in the face with a BB-gun, officials say.

The violence began in Brooklyn at 4:03 p.m., when a man was wounded in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

Three and a half hours later, Shawn Rhodes, 46, of Wortman Avenue, was shot several times inside a 2002 Chrysler Voyager parked near his home in East New York, police said. He was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital.

An hour after that, 19-year-old Anthony Seaberry was shot in the torso on East 31st Street in East Flatbush, cops said. He died from the wounds at Kings County Hospital, authorities said.

Around 11:30 p.m., Kevin Thompson, 37, of Saratoga Avenue, was gunned down on Park Place in Brownsville. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound to the neck.

Two Queens shootings, in the Rockaways and Jamaica, left two victims wounded.

A man was shot in the face with a BB gun in East New York and another man was stabbed during a family dispute in East Flatbush, police said. Both of those victims were taken to area hospitals and are expected to survive, police said.

No arrests have been made yet in any of the six Halloween shootings, according to police.

The report of the sex assault, on Melbourne Avenue near Queens College in the early morning hours on Friday, is under investigation, cops said. Details on that attack were not immediately clear.
