Sorry, coffee snobs — the best coffee-maker is …

The country’s best coffee-making machine doesn’t cost a lot of beans, a new study claims.

Mr. Coffee’s $40 home drip coffee maker out-brewed some of the world’s most expensive models — tieing for best-ranked on a list of nearly 100 models, according to Consumer Reports.

The classic coffee maker “matched the performance” of the $200 Cuisinart Crystal Limited Edition Perfect Temp model, which shared the top spot on the list, according to the magazine.

Researchers considered factors such as ability to hit the industry-standard of 195 to 205 degrees for roughly five minutes, along with easy cleanup and filter changing.

Michael Graves Design’s $115 drip coffee maker ranked only “so-so,” and the upscale Breville You Brew’s $280 machine was among the lowest ranked.

The test included seven types of coffee-making machines, including grind-and-brew, single-cup, and espresso, some of which cost nearly $2,000.

“Serious coffee drinkers don’t have to spend a fortune to brew a good cup of joe at home,” the magazine said in a press release. “Price didn’t always match performance.”

The Mr. Coffee drip machine brews up to 12 cups and is readily available at many retailers.
