Ozzy stable: Sharon
Sharon Osbourne visits her own show today, via videotape, to deliver a message to her fans regarding husband Ozzy Os bourne, who’s recuperating in a London hospital after a horri fic ATV crash on his estate.
“Ozzy is doing really well,” Sharon says. “He’s still in the ICU, but he’s doing really good – he’s very stable . . . And I will be back really soon!” Sha ron also thanks today’s guest host, Lance Bass, and upcom ing guest hosts Dan Cortese, D.L. Hughley and Anthony Anderson. Daughter Kelly Os bourne guest-hosts next Friday (1 p.m./ Ch. 11).
ABC has made it official, an nouncing that “Good Morn ing America” will expand to seven days a week beginning next fall. The idea was given the official stamp of approval yesterday by the network’s Affiliates Association Board of Governors. No word yet on possible anchor candi dates, though you can bet we’re already sniffing around for bold-faced possibilities.
That sound you heard was me exhaling, loudly, after I dodged a potentially embar rassing bullet yesterday – when I was the “TV lifeline” for Dr. Mary Jane Warden, who was taping her appear ance on “Who Wants to be a Millionaire,” hosted by Meredith Vieira. I received a call around 5:30 p.m. telling me that Mary Jane was “on the ‘hot seat’,” and that if I didn’t hear back from the show within the next half- hour my services wouldn’t be needed. Suffice it to say I was hoping I wasn’t called – fear ing I might cost Mary Jane a wad of cash if I didn’t know the answer to whatever TV question they would throw at me. Mary Jane, by the way, is a surgeon at Hackensack Uni versity Medical Center (N.J.). Last, but not least: Sources say A&E execs approached Barry Manilow about hosting a weekly vari ety show. His “Live By Re quest” scored big numbers last Friday.
