OH, MERSEY!

THE Beatles have gone 24/7 in their hometown. Visitors to Liverpool can occupy their days with foursome-flavored tours to their childhood haunts and homes, including Abbey Road and the ferry across the Mersey River. Evenings, not-yet-famous musicians still play at a recreated Cavern Club, where the newly formed Beatles played in the ’60s.

Now, you can sleep with them, too, in the first-ever Beatles-themed hotel. Ever.

Opened this past weekend, the lobby and each of the 110 rooms – indeed, just about every inch – of the Hard Day’s Night Hotel has a sculpture, photo or artwork of one or more of them, or their songs or albums. The restaurant, Blake’s Brasserie, is named for Sir Peter Blake, who designed the iconic cover of the Sgt. Pepper album. Much of the artwork is original, commissioned works from signature NYC Beatles artist Shannon, along with other artwork created by Ringo and Paul.

Room decor reflects different aspects of the Beatles legend. Some suites, however, are more tightly focused.

For example. there’s a knight’s suit of armor in the Sir Paul McCartney Suite and a white piano in the John Lennon Suite.
