BRITNEY SPEARS BACK IN HOSPITAL

For the second time this month, Britney Spears was escorted from her house early this morning by more than a dozen LA police officers and taken to a hospital to “get help.”

Spears longtime pal, Sam Lufti, told Pagesix.com that the mother of two would be put on a 5150 psychiatric hold — just like the last time — meaning she had become a danger to herself or others.

The failed pop star had to be physically removed from her house and was taken to UCLA Medical Center, the LA Times reported, by a police escort consisting of motorcycles, two police cruises and two helicopters.

The incident was prompted by a call to authorities from Spears’ psychiatrist, according to the LA Times. Unlike the frenzy of papparazzi and ambulances that documented her trip on Jan. 3, this even seemed to be carefully planned over a period of time, the paper reported.

Spears’ parents, Lynn and Jamie, pal Lufti, boyfriend Adnan Ghalib and friend Alli Sims all joined her at the medical center, according to Pagesix.com.

The event came after an appointment with LA psychiatrist Dr. Deborah Nadel on Friday and a reunion with her mother on Tuesday.

This is not the first time Spears has made a late-night trip to a hospital for a mental evaluation.

On Jan. 3, police were called to her home when she refused to return her two young sons, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, to ex-husband Kevin Federline, who has custody.

Officers had paramedics haul Spears to a hospital for undisclosed reasons. She was released after a day and a half in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Police also went to the home Monday night after someone reported a swarm of paparazzi trespassing in the singer’s gated community. When officers arrived, they didn’t see anyone trespassing, police said, but citations were issued for several illegally parked cars.

Spears has been in a highly public downward spiral since filing for divorce from Federline in November 2006.

Her bizarre antics include shaving her head bald, attacking a car with an umbrella and bringing along a paparazzo pal on trips to a courthouse in her child custody case.
