7-Eleven sued after clerks beat, strip man ‘over Snickers bar’

A Bronx man with a long rap sheet is suing 7-Eleven and its employees for doling out a punishment that did not fit his alleged crime.

A video captured by the downtown Brooklyn store’s security cameras shows David Golson, 30, screaming and being dragged by clerks who suspected that he pocketed a Snickers bar in October 2012.

“The employees intentionally, brutally and violently assaulted [Golson] in a manner completely disproportionate to what they were accusing him of: stealing a candy bar,” his Bronx Supreme Court suit says.

“Employees pulled, beat, bit and stripped [Golson] despite his repeated requests to be released and his claims of innocence,” he whines in court papers.

The video of Golson stripped down by the clerks to his shoes, socks and boxer shorts with a very deep wedgie went viral and has over 800,000 views on WorldStarHipHop.com.

The “widespread dissemination of images showing [Golson] stripped almost naked have caused [him] to suffer severe humiliation, mental anguish and emotional distress from which he may never recover,” the suit says.

He is suing for an unspecified amount.

Cops cuffed Golson at the Flatbush Avenue Extension 7-Eleven near Barclay’s Center. He had an outstanding arrest warrant and charged him with robbery, assault, criminal mischief and criminal possession of stolen property.

Police said they did not charge the clerks because Golson lashed out first, trying to attack the employees while knocking over shelves.

Golson’s criminal case is still pending in court.

His attorney did not return calls for comment.

A spokeswoman for 7-Eleven declined to comment because the matter is in litigation.
