De Blasio’s trademark ‘Smackdown’ dance

First, he smacked down Republican rival Joe Lhota.
Then, Democratic Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio and his telegenic family celebrated his landslide victory Tuesday with the family’s trademark dance move, such as it is, they call – “The Smackdown.”

“And once again, ‘The Smackdown,’” said his college student daughter Chiara to an adoring throng at the Park Slope Armory Tuesday night.
Then, the gangly, 6-foot-5 de Blasio, son Dante, Chiara and wife Chirlane McCray – lined up, waved their right hands in front of their faces and over their heads, bent down and smacked the stage as the crowd cheered.

The de Blasios have whipped out the brief routine before, after winning the Democratic primary and at the September West Indian Day Parade in Brooklyn.
