With rumors swirling that “Twilight” lovers Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are hanging out again, and that Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams are back on after their six-year split, we got a bit sentimental for the couples that once were — and ought to be again.
Here’s how we would rank our top targets for Cupid’s arrow:
-
1. Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes
Only Pacey truly grasped the vast meaning behind Joey’s signature half-smile on “Dawson’s Creek.” So, clearly, Joshua Jackson and Katie Holmes are real-life soulmates, too. The actors dated while working on “Dawson’s” back in the late ’90s, and Holmes even called her co-star her first true love in a 1998 Rolling Stone article. Now that Holmes is divorced from Scientologist hubby Tom Cruise, she could use a familiar shoulder to lean on.
-
2. Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom
In October, the comely couple announced their separation after three years of marriage. Since then, they’ve been spotted walking arm in arm around NYC with their son, Flynn. But Victoria’s Secret supermodel Kerr and “Romeo and Juliet” Broadway star Bloom maintain that they’re now just friends. With such maturity and unnaturally good looks, these two should never let go of one another.
-
3. Michelle Williams and Jason Segel
Williams and Segel were introduced by actress Busy Philipps in 2012 and dated for a year before breaking up. Despite moving into Williams’ Brooklyn home, Segel couldn’t drop his LA life. But he looked so darn adorable (and natural) alongside Williams and her daughter, Matilda (child of Williams and the late Heath Ledger). Come back home to Michelle! Brooklyn misses you (and your facial hair), Jason!
-
4. Amy Poehler and Will Arnett
When hilarious power couple Poehler and Arnett announced they were ending their nine-year marriage in September 2012, tears of sadness replaced the usual tears of laughter. Since then, Arnett’s been linked with Billy Joel’s ex, Katie Lee, and Poehler with actor Nick Kroll. But nothing compares to the Poehler-Arnett duo! A reunion would give the world some much-needed laughs.
-
5. Kris and Bruce Jenner
The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” stars have been falling behind on their marriage. Last month, they announced their separation after 22 years of matrimony. Since then, cougar Kris has been prowling for boy toys and Bruce has been . . . well, grocery shopping, if the paparazzi pics are any indication. Just call it a truce, you two crazy kids. We really don’t feel like watching a three-episode “Kardashians Divorce Special” anytime soon.
-
6. Courteney Cox and David Arquette
We screamed in 2010 when we learned Cox and Arquette were separating after 11 years of marriage. But we’re holding out hope (even if they did finalize their divorce this year). After all, it had to have been true love for Cox to withstand Arquette’s crazy array of outfits. Courteney is sure to need a plus-one for bestie Jennifer Aniston’s upcoming nuptials. A perfect excuse to reconcile.
