Man slain bringing family Thanksgiving cash

A man was fatally gunned down Friday as he delivered money to family members to pay for Thanksgiving dinner.

“I opened the door and it was a mess. He was crunched over in a fetal position. He said, ‘I’m shot, I’m shot,’ ” as he attempted to call 911, said the victim’s niece, who declined to give her name.

Clifford Hubbard, 66, called her to let her know he was parking the car on North Oxford Street near the Brooklyn Queens Expressway at 3 a.m., according to police.

That’s when an unknown gunman fired two bullets into his stomach and one into his right arm, cops said.

“He was coming over to give my sister money for Thanksgiving. He wanted it to be memorable,” said another relative of the victim.

He was a wonderful, wonderful man,” said another niece, Precious Moller.
