Bill de Blasio’s family shock on way to ballot box

Surprise dad, it’s me!

Bill de Blasio was 40 minutes late to vote, but this time he had a good excuse — an unexpected visit from daughter Chiara, who is going to school in California.

A photographer caught the smiling Democratic mayoral candidate in his tee-shirt when Chiara flew in from the West Coast without warning and knocked on their front door in Park Slope.

Reporters gathered at de Blasio’s polling place two blocks away were left waiting for the candidate, who is known for running late for events.

When he arrived he explained he was surprised by that Chiara had come back so she could cast her Election Day ballot with her parents.

The unscheduled family reunion put a crimp in the Democratic nominee’s schedule and he was running about an hour behind for later events.
