A police officer shot himself to death outside the 66th Precinct Station House in Brooklyn Thursday at about 7:30 p.m., according to law enforcement sources.
The officer had recently been transferred to the precinct where he was assigned to work with the detective’s squad, the source said.
Shortly after making a robbery arrest, the officer told colleagues he was going down stairs to get something and would be right back, a law enforcement source said.
After about 30 minutes, the officer did not return and was eventually found fatally wounded in his private vehicle by a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the source said.
