The Broadway Bomb, Benny Hill style

A video showing a group of bumbling cops trying to corral skateboarders at this month’s “Broadway Bomb” event was sped up and posted on Youtube set to the theme song from the classic Benny Hill Show.

Perched in a window above Broadway, the cameraman captured the chaotic scene as police officers armed with a long orange net attempted to block the path of the more than 100 skateboarders who descended on Manhattan to taken the ride en masse down the famous stretch which has become known as the Broadway Bomb.

The video shows the bewildered cops dashing back and forth between the north and south lanes of Broadway with the net as they scrambled to dodge traffic and nab the clever youths, most of whom roll right past the impasse.

At some points the officers grabbed a few skateboards before rousting them and setting them free.

In total, police issued a total of 35 summonses and arrested three people at the Oct. 13 ride.
