The daughter of Eric Garner said her father’s Staten Island memorial was burned to the ground by vandals on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Erica Garner lashed out on social media after she witnessed the memorial in ruins at the location where her father was killed when a police officer detained him with an alleged chokehold last July.
“Evil set my dad’s memorial on fire tonight .but cant erase his legacy,” Garner tweeted. “Rebuild 2morrow.”
Despite Erica Garner’s claims of vandalism, police said they believe a candle accidentally fell and burned down the memorial.
