IRAN PREZ: I DON’T GET GROUND ZERO UPROAR

Thick-headed Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told CBS News’ 60 Minutes today that he was “amazed” by the negative reaction to his potential Ground Zero visit.

Apparently clueless as to the sacred nature of the site, and in denial about his own country’s ties with terrorism, Ahmadinejad told reporter Scott Pelley that he meant to show his respect and doesn’t understand the uproar.

“Why should it be insulting?” Ahmadinejad asked.

When Pelley attempted to explain the emotional attachment many have to that hallowed ground, the Iranian Prez replied, “How can you speak for the whole of the American nation? You are representing a media and you’re a reporter. The American nation is made up of 300 million people. There are different points of view over there.”

Ahmadinejad also said that he won’t press his prior plan to visit Ground Zero.

“Well, over there, local officials need to make the necessary coordinations. If they can’t do that, I won’t insist,” the president replied.
