Daughter on Adolfo payroll

Mayoral candidate Adolfo Carrion paid his 23-year-old daughter more than $12,800 to work on his campaign, disclosure records filed with the city’s Campaign Finance Board show.

Between December and mid-March, Raquel Carrion received payments ranging from $500 to $2,333 as a “campaign consultant,” records show. She got another $725 in repayments for expenses, according to a disclosure report Friday.

Carrion’s campaign hired his daughter as a full-time scheduler, said spokesman Tom Basile, who added that she is qualified for the role.

“Break that out by month and you could see she’s not a very highly paid staff person,” he said. “Anyone’s campaign knows how valuable a scheduler is.”

Her previous experience, according to LinkedIn, includes a year as a media sales associate at Felix and more than two as the manager of a Green Bean Coffee Lounge.

She also did a four-month stint with the Bloomberg campaign in 2009.

Raquel Carrion currently lists two jobs on the LinkedIn Web site — the one at her father’s campaign and another as vice president of his company, MetroFutures LLC.
